Default New to dervishes, request assistance

edit: Changed the original build as per suggestion. Replaced Balthazar with Dwayna and removed Mystic Regeneration for another attack.

[skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill][skill]Mystic Sweep[/skill][skill]Lyssa's Assault[/skill][skill]Heart of Fury[/skill][skill]Avatar of Dwayna[/skill]Eternal Aura[skill]Faithful Intervention[/skill]Sunspear Rebirth Signet

Scythe Mastery 12+1+1
Mysticism 12+1

Is it worthwhile to keep Faithful Intervention? Coloneh suggested dropping it, but I chose to replace MR instead given the heal bonus of AoD. FI doesn't look like a bad skill, nor one which is overly impressive. It serves as a small safety net and maintains my "while enchanted" bonuses...beyond that, it just sorta sits there.

Lyssa's Assault was added because it is essentially free to use. My builds tend to scrimp on energy, opting for additional health. By my calculation this dervish will have 575 hp. It could be as much as 645, but I will likely use Windwalker insignia and a 20% enchanting grip.

This is round two...further criticism is welcome and appreciated.

[skill]Avatar of Balthazar[/skill] is not all that useful. I would say go with something that does damage. There are defensive skills that can be used. The armor boost from AoB is kinda over kill. The dervish is better put to use as a damage dealer and not a tank. As for insignias if you have alot of enchantments i would say use windwalker cuz of the armor bonus. Its what i use and i have no problems using heroes and henchmen for quests.

hes right about AoB. try lyssa, melaundru, or dawanya. although i would personally suggest reaper's or even wounding, but with eternal aura avatars are actually a viable option. and generally your going to want another attack skill, i would replace faithful with eremite's attack. its not to terrible though

not-quite-shameless bump for revision.

Thanks for reading.

I said it in the other thread, so I'll say it here - you don't need a self-heal as Dwayna. You heal by spamming attacks and killing stuff in the process.
Besides, Faithful Intervention's pretty trash, especially when we have Watchful Intervention.

FI --> Eremite's Attack, Mending Touch or... uh... something.

That's not quite fair... FI has it's place, as does WI. I like FI for it's cast and forget nature, and especially like it anytime I'm near enchant-removing types (or have the need for pious haste).

Really, you need to choose -- are you your party's tank, or is Koss/another player your party's tank? If you're the tank, the permanent armor boost and run speed boost of AoB are awesome. If you're not the tank, AoL or AoD are great. But if you're not the tank, you shouldn't need as much self-healing -- AoL is plenty. Ditch FI for Aura of Thorns or Zealous Renewal or something.

Really, for standard PvE, I don't really like AoD that much (unless in a hex-heavy area, like those darn Frigid Skales). I tend to choose from two builds:

Tanking:
[skill]Avatar of Balthazar[/skill][skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill][skill]Lyssa's Assault[/skill][skill]Eremite's Attack[/skill]Eternal Aura[skill]Heart of Fury[/skill][skill]Faithful Intervention[/skill][skill]Rebirth[/skill]

(sometimes with Wild Blow instead of Lyssa's Assault and a Res Sig over Rebirth)

Damaging:
[skill]Avatar of Lyssa[/skill][skill]Eremite's Attack[/skill][skill]Mystic Sweep[/skill][skill]Protector's Strike[/skill]Eternal Aura[skill]Heart of Fury[/skill][skill]Faithful Intervention[/skill][skill]Sunspear Rebirth Signet[/skill]
